These spiritual practices have helped me to have more peace You can join us live and learn more on this Facebook page.

This list is growing all the time. Being mindful every moment and staying connected to the divine energy that we are always swimming in is the purpose of spiritual practices. Because Jesus is my friend and guide (rather than Lord and Savior), I do like Christ-centered practices.

On Feb. 1, 2018, I realized that I could no longer be a part of supporting Christianity which I think does more to divide us all than to unite. Yet I still find value in connecting with Jesus.

I will be adding more spiritual practices from other paths in the near future.

I adapt the practices so that anyone of any faith can feel comfortable with them.

Centering Prayer is a method of prayer, which prepares us to receive the gift of God’s presence, traditionally called contemplative prayer. It consists of responding to the Spirit of Christ by consenting to God’s presence and action within. It furthers the development of contemplative prayer by quieting our faculties to cooperate with the gift of God’s presence.

Introduction

The purpose of this activity is to integrate prayer, sensation and the environment. You will need to take a piece of fruit with you (preferably something locally grown and organic, if possible), unless you are able to walk somewhere that you can pick blackberries or similar as you go. You may find it helpful to take a small journal and a pen or pencil to record any thoughts, impressions or prayers that you may want to come back to later. Find a space where you can comfortably walk in a `natural’ space and without interruption.

Spiritual Practices to Energize Your Relationship with Jesus

Veganism and animal rights were my focus up until about 3 months ago when through a series of what I can only call miraculous events, I was inspired to really deepen my relationship with Jesus. This came after I experienced a dark night of the soul which left me crying out to Jesus to help me make Him my priority. My prayer was answered.

Now I am hosting spiritual practice sessions on Facebook live three times a day, and a handful of people join me. Telling people that I do this, and having them count on me, has motivated me to be much more regular in my spiritual practice. In fact, I have failed miserably over my adult life to ever get a regular spiritual practice going. When I did do it, like when I meditated in Self Realization style, the time always went very slowly, and I was bored stiff!

I have learned some spiritual practices that help bring joy, energy AND connection with Jesus. Time flies by, with my longest session being 1 hour and 45 minutes. I seriously had no idea the time had gone by!

Here is a post that has the resources that I often use, and even if you are not on Facebook, perhaps you will be enriched, and start doing regular spiritual practices on your own or with your family and friends.

One person joins me just about every evening, at 9PM CST and another joins me regularly at 1PM CST. Mornings are still a time when I might be alone–7:30AM CST, but often I often have someone join me.

This is a huge improvement over me feeling so isolated, without Jesus Vegans being the community I envision. Now, when the people do come to join Cliff, Robert, and I, I will have a spiritual practice that is regular and solid, and I imagine that they will be helped immensely, as will the whole community.

Ozark Area Community Congress Report

I loved every minute of my time from Friday afternoon til the time I left at 3:30 on Sunday.  I feel so grateful to each person I connected with, as well as to the organizers.

Here are the pictures I took which give you an idea of how awesome this beautiful gathering was. I loved the content, how it was organized, and the amazing people I met. And one of the best thing was that the cook was really into providing vegan food—even though only a handful of us are plant-based eaters. That was thrilling!

I put up a display to share about veganism and vegan permaculture. Plus I took on the role of co-coordinator for the volunteers since the original volunteer didn’t show up.

I made a lot of new friends, and I look forward to deepening those friendships next year. I also have invitations to go to 3 different communities where I know I could learn a lot.

I feel grateful for this bioregional congress which has been going for almost 40 straight years! The Ozarks is a special place indeed!
